“The Sneeze”, is especially suited to younger students but it is a simple way to remind kids to wash their hands. We’ve been experiencing our fair share of sickness and the best way to keep from sharing germs is good handwashing. Feel free to share with your students if desired.
Hope your holidays are happy and healthy! Click here for video.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a student to practice their writing skills and focus on real-life heroes rather than the ones that the media and pop culture spotlight.Select a real-life hero who has made a difference and has shown one or more of the following characteristics: generosity, trust, persistence, dedication, leadership, creativity, caring, bravery, imagination, courage or compassion. The hero must be someone that the student knows personally, and not a public figure like Steve Jobs or a fictional character like Superman. The student should show how this person has had an impact on his or her life.

Dr. Brian Lack’s November 30, 2017 presentation at Haw Creek Elementary in the Café at 6 P.M. shared with parents the enVisionMATH program that Forsyth County Schools uses in all of their K-8 classrooms. The presentation informed parents about the program and how it establishes a framework that assists Forsyth County students throughout their K-12 math courses, as well as, provide general ways in which parents can help with math at home. * He will also provide opportunities for parents to ask questions. Dr. Lack shared his power point of the presentation with PEP@HC and you can find it on our pages under the ‘Math Resources’ section. We want to thank Dr. Lack for his presentation and for creating an informative, welcoming, and comfortable atmosphere for our Haw Creek Elementary parents.
PEP@HC will not have a December 2017 meeting but look for us again in January 2018.
PEP@HC wishes you a very pleasant Winter Break and we hope to see you at our 2018 meetings.
*If you have a few minutes, you may want to look at the PEP@HC webpage under ‘Math Resources’ for some additional information and links that may also help you to assist your child at home.
Please join our Husky Hangout program for our 7th Annual Warm Hands Warm Hearts Campaign. All donations will go directly to The Place of Forsyth to help keep our community nice and warm during the cold months to come.
The winter months are the most difficult time of year for the homeless. Many of them are at risk to the elements. You can help our community's homeless keep safe and warm this winter by joining our Warm Hands Warm Hearts Campaign.
To participate, all you need to do is donate at least one brand-new winter hat, scarf, pair of gloves or mittens, undergarments of all sizes and genders, or new warm socks. This is an easy and inexpensive way to make a lasting impact on the lives of homeless men, women and children in our community.
The drive will go from November 27 to December 20. All you need to do is bring in your item(s) and place them on the trees or in the boxes by the trees located by the Front Office and the Cafeteria.
By participating in Warm Hands Warm Hearts you will not only help keep our community's neediest, most vulnerable citizens stay warm and safe this winter, but you will also help maintain their dignity and comfort during this most difficult time of year.
The Haw Creek School Spelling Bee will be held on January 10, 2018 in the cafeteria. Each classroom in 4th and 5th grade will have a classroom bee and the top two spellers will compete in the School Spelling Bee.
