‘Tis the Season! In addition to colds and flu, during the holiday season we often see a slight increase in cases of head lice. If anyone in your family has an itchy scalp, or has been in close contact with someone who has head lice, please check their hair carefully. If you suspect that your child has lice, please contact your school nurse for help and information. Click here for additional information.
Our fall book fair was a huge success! It was an exciting time and the kids LOVED it!! I want to thank the administration, teachers and staff for their support, all our parents and students for shopping and to all the WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS that gave of their time to assist. Finally, I want to give a big shout out to Laura Ring and Lauren Borland, the book fair coordinators, for their tireless efforts to ensure our book fair was organized, staffed, and well run.
Join us for some family fun! We will have crafts for the kids, selfie station and with every game a chance to win a prize. Don't worry about cooking
The Attitude of Gratitude mindset teaches us the importance of seeking the positives from every experience and being thankful for all that we have. Through this mindset, we learn that we can use the positives or the negatives of our lives as the foundation on which to build. Choose the positives, and we are on our way toward extraordinary success; choose the negatives, and we embark on path toward disappointment, resentment, and suffering. In these lessons, students will focus on all the things they have, leaving no time to be distracted by what they don’t.

Engineer Girl Writing Contest
The EngineerGirl writing contest is, for the first time, asking students to submit works of creative fiction.
We want stories about women and girls saving the day with their wits, skill, and whatever resources they can find to solve the problem. Maybe they are working alone, maybe they are part of an elite team. Maybe they just find themselves in an unusual situation that requires some innovative thinking.
We want stories that inspire EngineerGirl readers to think, “I want to be able to do that” or “I can do that.”
WHAT: Write an original, fictional story in which the main character is a female who uses engineering skills to solve a problem.
WHEN: Submissions are due Feb. 1, 2019.
Please join our Husky Hangout program for our 7th Annual Warm Hands Warm Hearts Campaign. All donations will go directly to The Place of Forsyth to help keep our community nice and warm during the cold months to come.
The winter months are the most difficult time of year for the homeless. Many of them are at risk to the elements. You can help our community's homeless keep safe and warm this winter by joining our Warm Hands Warm Hearts Campaign.
To participate, all you need to do is donate at least one brand-new winter hat, scarf, pair of gloves or mittens, undergarments of all sizes and genders, or new warm socks. This is an easy and inexpensive way to make a lasting impact on the lives of homeless men, women and children in our community.
The drive will go from November 27 to December 20. All you need to do is bring in your item(s) and place them on the trees or in the boxes by the trees located by the Front Office and the Cafeteria.
By participating in Warm Hands Warm Hearts you will not only help keep our community's neediest, most vulnerable citizens stay warm and safe this winter, but you will also help maintain their dignity and comfort during this most difficult time of year.
